Nurses Touch Therapy, Inc. (NTT) is a Virginia health care corporation with an experienced staff of Licensed Registered Nurses who provide hospital patients with touch therapy. Our touch therapy incorporates massage and music with the traditional practice of nursing. Our mission is to return the RN to the bedside and provide compassionate care in a time of vulnerability for our patients.

 

We strongly feel that it is an honor for us to be present at the bedside serving our patients in their time of need, whether it is a mother at the time of the birth of her child, or a patient in hospice care looking for relief from pain, we believe that our work is a blessing to both our patients and our nurses.

 

Since its founding in 2000, NTT has served thousands of maternity patients both before and after delivery. NTT also provides relaxation nursing techniques to cardiology, oncology, surgical and many other types of patients at multiple Northern Virginia Hospitals. Our Registered Nurses proudly serve patients in all hospital departments, and benefit patients of all ages and types.

Patient evaluation of our service has been overwhelmingly positive. HCAHPS scores dramatically improve with the addition of NTT services to patient care.  Additionally, NTT nurses who provide the therapy have been positively affected by the caring nature of the work. The physicians at the hospitals that incorporate touch therapy overwhelmingly approve of this care and frequently request for their patients to have this type of specialized care.

INOVA Fairfax Hospital conducted a clinical research study in 2006 on open heart patients that were using NTT therapy. The results of the study indicated a decrease in pain, anxiety, blood pressure and pulse. Additionally, the INOVA study noted a decrease in call-bell use by the patients and resulted in 98% patient satisfaction.

 

NTT was selected as a finalist for innovation and moxie in the healthcare sector in the Moxie Awards 2018. It is the intention of Nurses Touch Therapy to administer the proposed services to patients in a manner that integrates with the spectrum of care currently being provided by the facility.
